Before the turkey and the stuffing take part in the most LIT holiday run of the season. The Glowing Gobbler 5K is an evening race that gives runners a unique opportunity to run through Newport News Park’s Celebration In Lights. Get in the holiday spirit and have a little run while you are at it!

Parking will take place at Woodside High School, a short 1/4 mile walk from the Start Line. The address is 13450 Woodside Ln, Newport News, VA 23608.

Gear Check will be available at the Start Line and will be moved to the Finish Line area for pickup.
If you are picking a packet up for someone other a household family member, please have that runner fill out this form & bring it with you.
Awards & Post-Race Celebration
The top 3 male & female runner awards will be presented on-site at 7:30PM at the Deer Run golf course clubhouse.
Make plans to stick around for a few and grab a cold drink from Fairways Grill before heading home for the holiday!
Course
The course will start on Clubhouse Way just off of Fort Eustis Boulevard and head towards the front gate of Newport News Park on Constitution Way where it will u-turn and repeat the course heading back towards the start area, finishing at the Deer Run golf course clubhouse. This allows participants a chance to enjoy the Celebration in Lights going both directions on the course!
Strollers are allowed on the Glowing Gobbler course and the event is both runner and walker friendly.
Pets are NOT allowed on the race course or post-race field for the safety of race participants, spectators and the animals.
However, service animals as recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are permitted on course. Should you decide to run the race with a service animal, please email us at raceteam@flatoutevents.com. Runners with ADA service animals will be placed in the last corral behind individual runners for safety purposes.
